Alexander Elliott is a mixed media artist who received his BFA in Illustration from Kendall College of Art and Design in 2017 and his master’s degree in Public Administration from Oakland University in 2021. He primarily works in 2D mediums combined with collaged elements and found objects. He currently works and resides in mid Michigan.
Drawing inspiration from both the outside world around him as well as his own internal world, he works to understand and bridge the gap between the two through visual abstractions. His artwork primarily explores the interweaving themes of identity, queerness, trauma and loss, society and current events, mental health, and the natural world. Through this work, Alexander hopes to inspire conversation and connection through self-reflection. A firm believer that through art, we can gain both a better understanding of ourselves, the world around us - and ultimately each other.
